EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Greetings! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, National Certified

Counselor, and proud member of the American Counseling Association. I completed my

Master of Science Clinical Mental Health Counselor degree from Walden in February of 2023.

I have received extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well

as certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR),

Anxiety, Complex Trauma Treatment, and Motivational Interviewing. Additionally, I have

worked exclusively with inpatient substance use disorder patients for the better part of a

year during the internship and field experience portion of my masters curriculum.

COUNSELING APPROACH:

Finding continued inspiration from Carl Rogers, I embody a person-centered approach in my counseling style, where I embolden the belief that we are all capable of creating the change we wish to see in ourselves and our environment. Though we cannot control the actions of others, predict the future, or change the past, that does not leave us contingent on helplessness or defeat; rather, we retain the capacity and willingness for an improved perspective and well-being subject to enriched life-experiences and fulfillment. By working as a partnership in our therapeutic relationship, we will remain intentional in our commitment for goal attainment, values alignment, and an increased sense of control over one’s feelings for anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and/or trauma.

No matter the issue, concern, or feeling, our experiences, perspectives, and outlooks are entirely our own and unique to every individual. I may have earned a degree and completed varied trainings; however, I will never consider myself the expert of a life lived entirely by you. Instead, I see the both of us as climbing our own separate mountains. Each with our own unique challenges and roadblocks; where I too am working to get to the top. Yet, from where I’m standing, I am in a position where I can help observe, instruct, and guide you toward where you want to be on your mountain. Moreover, I strive to provide a space that remains open, safe, encouraging, and empowering in this journey to an improved well-being.
