EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Welcome! I am an intern with Trinitas Services and graduate student in Clinical Mental Health
Counseling at North Carolina Central University. My background includes a Master of Arts in
Teaching and work as a classroom teacher and education researcher, which informs my
developmental approach.
COUNSELING APPROACH:
My goal is to provide a safe and affirming environment that uplifts your voice and centers
your cultural values and beliefs. I believe counseling is a collaborative process and I strive to
work together with you to both affirm your lived experiences and build goals focused on
wellness and healing. Social oppression and discrimination greatly impact our mental health
and wellness. My personal and professional values of anti-racism, anti-ableism, and body size
diversity inform my practice as a therapist and my approach in building safety. I utilize my lived experience as a transgender person to support you in navigating marginalization, varying degrees of trauma, and/or identities that impact your life. I also strongly believe in finding a therapist that fits you - if you find that you prefer someone who shares your lived experiences, I would be happy to assist you in finding a therapist that meets your needs.
My therapeutic style is flexible to meet your needs. Some clients may prefer a therapist who provides direct structure, while others may prefer a client-led session. Overall, my style centers around active engagement, presence, and warmth. My integrated counseling approach is informed by relational-cultural theory, narrative theory, solution-focused theory, and play therapy.
AREAS OF EXPERIENCE:
I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you in whatever you may be facing. I see individuals, relationships, and families – including adults, adolescents, and children ages 3 and older.
