My approach

Your search for a therapist shows you are ready for hope and healing. I am honored to support you on your well-being journey. My work is grounded in a love ethic, multicultural awareness, and a commitment to social justice. I use a trauma-informed and strength-based approach that recognizes your inherent capacity for growth. I believe we all move through seasons of celebration, challenge, transition, and healing. Counseling provides a private, supportive space to listen deeply to yourself, explore your story, honor your strengths, and work through pain or uncertainty. My role is to meet you exactly where you are and walk alongside you with compassion and clarity. I integrate CBT, ACT, EFT, spiritually integrated psychotherapy, and Narrative Therapy to help you move toward the life you want to live.

Areas of experience

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, groups, and people serving in healthcare settings. I welcome clients of all beliefs, cultures, identities, sexual orientations, relationship constellations, and abilities. My practice supports people navigating:

  • Life transitions

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Relationship concerns (including premarital counseling using Prepare Enrich program)

  • Illness and caregiving stress

  • Grief and loss

  • Burnout and moral injury

  • Trauma and religious trauma

  • Student stress and identity development

  • Spiritual concerns and meaning making

Training & education

I have 30 years of experience in providing spiritual and emotional support through counseling, chaplaincy, and spiritual care. My background includes a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling, a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a Master of Divinity. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, a Board-Certified Telemental Health Counselor, and a Board-Certified Chaplain. I’m also an ordained minister and endorsed for specialized ministry and pastoral counseling through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. These experiences shape the affirming, compassionate, whole-person approach I offer to every client.
