EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Justis holds a Master of Divinity and Master of Social Work dual degree program through
Duke Divinity School and UNC-Chapel Hill. I plan on pursuing and getting licensed as an
LCSW and LCAS post graduating from these two programs. (Expected licensure - June 2025)
I received a Bachelors of Education degree through the Human Development and Family
Studies program at UNC-Chapel Hill (2021). In addition to all of this Justis is an ordained Deacon
in the United Methodist Church.

COUNSELING APPROACH:
I employ person-centered therapy modalities that are adaptive and flexible to the needs and
strengths of my clients. I am drawn to these modalities because of the ways that they center
and honor the client as the expert in their own experience. I use various counseling approaches that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Nurture/Play/Structure therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I believe that the therapeutic process is a journey of exploration, where I get to walk alongside my clients as they seek to understand themselves more clearly.

AREAS OF EXPERIENCE:
I have previous experience in different settings working with youth and adolescents, particularly those who identify as LGBTQ+
Below is a list of areas of service I am best suited for.
-
Trauma
-
LGBTQ+ Issues, including Gender Identity
-
Anxiety
-
Grief and Loss
-
Spiritual and Religious Concerns, including Religious Trauma

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Justis presented a workshop on Religious Trauma. Due to the nature of Justis training in Divinity and Social Work, the workshop was offered through Trinitas Services and The Beloved Community at The Trees.
